#109 – Bless this mess

These busy days
When it seems they’ll never end
The work never done
A moment of peace impossible

It’s those days that are building something
Shaping something
Growing something

The future is bright
Exciting things ahead
But that take work
Which in itself is building

Life is a journey
Everything leads to another
Walk with God
He won’t lead you down a path to nowhere

Everything has its purpose
Even the busyness of today.

Sloth makes you poor;
Diligence brings wealth.
Make hat while the sun shines – that’s smart;
Go fishing during harvest – that’s stupid.
Proverbs 10:3-5ish Message

#107 – The New Day’s Gift

As the sun’s rays peek over the roof toops

and the birds find their morning call,

the grass, like blades of ice shivers until the warm glow lands gently on its fronds,

melting the night away;

and the world whispers to those who will hear;

“It’s started, I’m here, this new day.

Enjoy me, for everything I am.

You may need to look closely,

or stop and wait to listen

but treasures are within me,

just wait and see

there are treasures in each new day

for those who stop to hear.

Don’t be sad, downhearted if you miss them

if your day is already so full,

my friend Tomorrow is coming

wait and see what he has for you!”

To my lovely readers, you may have noticed that I’m trying out a few different things and ideas over the past few days .. I hope they’re not too corny for you but it’s fun to express what I’m feeling this way. x

#106 – Autumn’s Gentle Reminding

Autumn leaves that shiver on a cold foggy morning,

now orange or red,

floating to the ground,

painting the carpet in colours of fire.

Have you ever wondered why autumnal colours are those of fire

when they harken the season where we are more than all others safe from its dangers?

Perhaps it signals an alert,

a warning,

the end of a season,

a life,

a moment,

has come.

Death in it’s smallest form,

the death of a leaf,

in its vibrant,

breath taking final display.

It reminds us that death means not only ‘over’ or ‘decay’ or ‘goodbye’

but when sadness,

hopelessness is drawn back,

it is a new season that awaits.

May it be new,

frightening even,

but it is fresh

and don’t doubt for a minute,

full of new adventures,

new opportunities,

new dreams.

When the leaves of autumn fall,

I will remember that it is not over for good,

just the turning of a page,

a new season,

a new stage.
